Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food with my family.

Oh Canada

Oh Canada

So here I am playing a little catch up so thank you for hanging in there. This fall when the weather was still amazing we decided to take a family trip to Canada. We flew into Boston and rented a car to start our little journey up north wandering through New England on our way to Canada. The leaves in the fall are my absolute favorite. It was so breathtaking!

Since we wanted to spend most of our time in Canada we decided to skip the day in Boston and start our journey to Quebec driving through the back roads of Vermont. This was the first time I had ever been through Vermont, and let me tell you it is so beautiful and quaint. I loved the amazing scenery through the quiet streets with the historical houses that lined the water front.  It rained for an hour or so when we started our drive but quickly turned into a small mist leaving a perfect foggy backdrop. It was stunning. We only planned on driving through but couldn't help but stop a few times and enjoy the atmosphere. We loved it so much we immediately decided we had to drive back through on our way back.

We made it to Canada and it was even more stunning then I could have imagined. It has cobblestone streets filled with beautiful Architecture from churches to every little restaurant and  cottage home. All the locals speak French but thankfully most knew English as well. The boys loved listening to the language and laughed bashfully because they couldn't understand them.

We wandered through the city hitting up farmers markets, street art fairs, listened to local bands, and walked through little shops along the cobble stone streets. The whole city was so festive, filled with decorative balls and little pumpkins that sat on the steps of stores that looked like cottages.

One afternoon we took a shuttle up to a waterfall that overlooked the colorful trees with the horizon of the historic city in the background. It was so beautiful. The whole experience was just  breathtaking. We loved our whole time in Canada and plan on going back very soon.

Below are some of our favorite photos from all of our little stops along the way including Vermont, Lake Winnipesaukee New Hampshire, and all the beautiful places in Canada. Hope you enjoy!!

One of my favorite views in Vermont. We stopped and let the kids explore while skipping rocks and taking in the scenery.

Ok Ben and Jerrys, You know your stuff! I love this ice cream anyways but for some reason the ice cream at the factory is even better, if that is even possible. I thought Olive would rip off Maguires hand to get the ice cream faster in her mouth, it was pretty funny to watch.

The road to ourselves. Look at those beautiful trees!!

She is going for it and I don't think she is planning on stopping until she gets every last bite!

Loved these beautiful sailboats in this picturesque background

We stopped at this fun cheese shop that gave tours and made homemade donuts. Maguire didn't love the cheese so he spent most of his time pretending to drive this old truck that sat on the property.

Every morning in Quebec we ate at the local farmers market. Trent read the paper while we all ate fresh local egg sandwiches and out-of-the garden strawberries. Maguire has been working really hard on reading these last few months so Trent let him read the words he knew as they browsed through the paper. I loved watching from the side...... well as I chased Olive around of course :)

Aiden took this picture because he wanted to remember his favorite treat that he enjoyed daily. We still dream about all of the pastries and treats they have there. SO good!

Loved these little shoppes that lined the cobblestone streets, they were so beautiful.

Our little photographer.

This little square was one of my favorites to wander around and let the kids play. I mean look at this background!

I love this picture. Maguire was so cozy on that hay that he didn't want to get in the picture but from where I was standing it looked like Trent had picked a favorite. HA!

After church we decided to wander through the streets one last time before we started the drive back. Found this cute festive street and snapped some pictures as the boys ran around chasing each other while Olive struggled to walk on the cobblestone.

We took the kids to the local childrens museum in Quebec and it was really fun. They had this room filled with mirrors with a city background on the floor. You could lay down on the ground and look at the mirrors giving the illusion that they are hanging from a construction piece. We spent most of our time in this room making different positions.

Guess who with Cats.

Olive even getting in on the fun.

These leaves engulfed us, the most leaves I have ever seen.

The bridge that overlooked the waterfall, plus I just love this traveling crew.

Maple Leaf. When in Canada:)

On the drive back we stopped at an Apple Orchard and let the kids stretch their legs. I am such a sucker for Apple Orchards. They are so beautiful with all the green with pops of red throughout. This orchard was actually one of my favorites that I have ever been to. The trees were so tall that you had to stand on a huge red ladder to reach the apples you wanted to pick. It was beautiful and the apples were so good. I think my samplers enjoyed them too.

My baby with her baby.

We may have stopped at another orchard to let the kids run and explore.

Aiden wanted to make sure not a drop of rain was going to touch him. Olive looked up at him almost their whole stroll. It was adorable to watch.

Last stop in Vermont before we headed to New Hampshire.

New Hampshire.

We bet Maguire to jump into the freezing cold water, he put up a good fight but couldn't resist a good dare. He came up gasping for air, yelling its FREEZING!! He was a trooper. His little smile here just melts my heart.

Thats a wrap on our little journey to Quebec, Canada. If you are ever considering taking this trip, you should do it! Its amazing and you won't regret it.
